MGB Healthcare Leadership Program (HCLP)

The Massachusetts General Physicians Organization and Hospital (MGPO/MGH) and Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization and Hospital (BWPO/BWH), in partnership with Harvard Business School, have combined their respective Leadership Programs into a new offering. This integrated program builds on the successes of both longstanding initiatives to equip healthcare leaders with the skills needed for greater leadership roles within the hospitals and the Mass General Brigham system.

The curriculum emphasizes leadership skills, operations management, financial management, and specific tools and skills of benefit to physicians, nurses, researchers, advanced practice providers, and senior administrative leaders at BWH and MGH

HMS/HSDM Leadership Development Course for Physicians and Scientists

Each spring, the Office for Faculty Affairs offers a three-day course designed for the HMS/HSDM instructors who are 2+ years at rank and assistant professors who have a responsibility for a research grant, laboratory, educational course, or clinical program.  The goal of the course is to build on participants’ knowledge base and skills to enhance their professional development as administrative leaders in academic medicine.  The curriculum focuses on human resource management, negotiation, finance, self assessment, communications, and personal career development.  Women and populations underrepresented in medicine are particularly encouraged to apply.
